1. Introduction

This Cookies Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies petxamapp.com and its help center (help.petxamapp.com) use, what they are for, and how you can accept them, reject them or change your decision. It forms part of our Privacy Policy.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser or device. Similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage, serve similar purposes. Depending on who manages them, they can be first-party (Petxam's own) or third-party (from providers who render services to us).

3. Technical cookies (always on)

They are needed for the site to work or to provide a service you request, so they do not require your consent:

• petxam_consent (first-party, petxamapp.com and help.petxamapp.com): stores your decision about analytics cookies, so neither site asks you again. Duration: 13 months.
• firebase-language-override (first-party, petxamapp.com): remembers the language you choose. Duration: 1 year.
• _GRECAPTCHA (Google, reCAPTCHA service): set only when you start filling in one of our forms, to protect it from spam and automated abuse. Duration: 6 months.
• __session (first-party, petxamapp.com): used only by the Petxam team when signing in to the content editor, to complete that sign-in securely. Duration: 10 minutes.
• Local storage (first-party, help.petxamapp.com): remembers whether you prefer the light or dark theme and your answer to “Was this helpful?” on each article. It stays until you clear it from your browser.

4. Analytics cookies (only with your consent)

If you accept them, we use Google Analytics to measure in aggregate how petxamapp.com and the help center are used (pages visited, how you arrived, device type and approximate country) so we can improve them:

• _ga (Google Analytics): tells visits apart with a random identifier. Duration: 13 months.
• _ga_<identifier> (Google Analytics): keeps the state of your visit. Duration: 13 months.

5. How we handle analytics

Until you select “Accept” or turn analytics on in “Settings”, the site does not load Google Analytics or send it any data. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off: we do not use this data for advertising or to build profiles. Besides counting visits, we record in aggregate when one of our forms is submitted and the answers to “Was this helpful?”, never the content of what you write.

6. Legal basis

Technical cookies are based on the need to provide the service you request. Analytics cookies are based on your consent, which you can give, refuse or withdraw at any time without affecting your use of the site.

7. How to accept, reject or change your decision

On your first visit we show a notice with three options of equal weight: “Accept”, “Reject” and “Settings”, where you can choose by category. Your decision applies to petxamapp.com and help.petxamapp.com, and we will ask again after 13 months.

You can change it at any time from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page. If you withdraw your consent, we delete the Google Analytics cookies from your browser and stop measuring your visit. Withdrawing does not affect the lawfulness of earlier processing.

8. Managing cookies from your browser

You can also view, block or delete cookies from your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge) or your mobile device. Note that blocking technical cookies may affect how the site works, for example submitting forms.

9. Providers and international transfers

Google Analytics and Google reCAPTCHA are provided by Google (Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC). Google may process this data outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States, with the safeguards provided for by the GDPR: Google LLC participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. 10. Relationship to the Privacy Policy

Any personal data obtained through cookies is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

11. Updates to this policy

We will update this policy whenever the cookies we use change. If we add a new category that requires consent, we will ask you before enabling it. The version in force is always the one published on this page, and earlier versions remain available at their own address.
